Officers at the Phuket Check Point under Tha Chatchai Police Station carried out the arrest at about 10pm during what police described as a “strict inspection” operation.
The 28-year-old man arrested, not named in the public report by police, was from Lam Thap District in Krabi.
Seized during the arrest were 128 ya bah pills, 0.895 grammss of crystal meth including the bag weight, one unregistered .22-calibre handgun, five rounds of .22 ammunition, one handgun magazine, a black leather holster for concealed carry and one mobile phone.
Police said the ya bah pills had been concealed inside the suspect’s underwear.
The suspect was taken into custody and handed over to investigators at Tha Chatchai Police Station for further legal action.
Police said the man was informed of the charges and his legal rights before being transferred along with the seized items.
