The elaborate Miss Universe Pageant was held in Miami recently. The winner was Miss Colombia, 22-year-old Paulina Vega. She comes from Barranquilla, the same place as Shakira and Sofia Vergara, and is a student there. It would seem that Barranquilla has some of the most beautiful women in the world.
Sporty
I don’t pretend to know anything about sports but I do know that last Sunday (February 1) was the Super Bowl in the United States. The event was hosted by the city of Phoenix, Arizona, where the Seattle Seahawks played the New England Patriots. The famous halftime show headliner was Katy Perry. The Patriots won 28 to 24.

Shakira and boyfriend Gerad Piqué welcomed their second baby boy, named Sasha, who is now the little brother to two-year-old Milan. On Monday (February 2), just days after giving birth, Shakira celebrated her 38th birthday
Say what?!?
Apparently all the rumours about Olympian Bruce Jenner’s changing appearance are true! He is in fact going through a transgender transition. After over a year of speculation, the former athlete’s family is now publically supporting him. The Kardashian-Jenner clan are never short of news/drama but I must say I was a bit surprised to see this. I think it is great and will hopefully help change people’s attitude for the positive regarding transgender choices.

I am halfway through Lena Dunham’s book entitled Not That Kind of Girl. Lena is the creator of the hit HBO series Girls. In the book she gives random anecdotes from her childhood all the way to behind the scenes tidbits of recent projects. The book is an easy read and quite funny. I find it confirmation in a way that I am not “mental” and girls of our generation do think this way, to some degree anyway.
