Mr Krisda said a large number of bikers turned up nationwide yesterday (Nov 10), the last day for registration.
Sources said the cabinet yesterday discussed whether Dec 11 should be declared an official holiday.
However, the meeting agreed that it was not necessary to do so as there are already many holidays in December. Instead, cooperation may be sought from certain agencies to allow their staff to participate.
Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha voiced concern over safety on that day with a large number of people taking part in the event potentially causing heavy traffic congestion.
He asked agencies concerned to ensure all activities are carried out smoothly.
