3,000 workers flee Thanyaburi fire

THAILAND: A fire swept through a construction workers' camp in Pathum Thani on Saturday afternoon (July 25), forcing some 3,000 workers to flee in panic.

The blaze broke out around 3pm next to the Lumpini Town condominium construction site on Soi Rongsi Taihong in tambon Prachathibat of Thanyaburi district, said police.

A large two-storey structure containing about 2,000 temporary living units for workers of the construction company Tri Ekkaparb Group Co was engulfed in flames.

Ten fire trucks and firefighters fom Ransit municipality and nearby areas were on the scene as efforts continued into the early evening to contain the blaze.
