2 Burmese die, 2 injured in crash

PHUKET: Two Burmese died and two were injured when they ran a red light and crashed into a tree last night (September 19) in Thalang.

Two Burmese died and two were injured when they ran a red light this morning (September 19).

At 11.30pm Thalang police and Kusoldharm Rescuers were called to the scene after receiving a report of the crash on Thepkassattri Rd.

Police found the body of the driver, Bao, 22, who was instantly killed, lying next to the tree. The three remaining victims were taken to Vachira Hospital for urgent treatment, but police learned that one of the victims, Lone, 23, later died.

A nearby witness said, “The driver, carrying three passengers, ran a red light at a very high speed, with the passenger on the end carrying a guitar on his shoulder.

“The driver appeared to be unaware of how curvy the road was, as he slammed straight into a big tree.”

Police took a record and went to Vachira hospital to get more information from the victims.
