Acting on a tip-off officers led by Pol Maj Suchart Luecha and Capt Wuthichai Anupeto of the Thalang Police, joined by officials, raided a venue in Moo 8, Srisoonthorn.
When officers arrived at the scene, they found eight men surrounding a cockfighting ring and shouting out bets.
Close by was a table with 10 people gambling on Hi-Lo (also called Sic bo).
All eight cockfight gamblers were arrested, with cash and a stopwatch seized as evidence. No mention was made of what happened to any foul found at the scene.
The 10 Hi-Lo gamblers were also arrested, with the gambling sheet, three dice and 31 betting chips valued at B20 each seized as evidence.
All 18 were taken to Thalang Police Station and charged accordingly, police said.
One of the 18 arrested was a woman named by police only as “Ms Ya”, who was also charged with organising a gambling operation without permission, police confirmed.
