16 arrested for illegal gambling on Phuket cockfights

PHUKET: Thalang police arrested 16 people yesterday afternoon for illegal gambling on cockfights at a workers’ camp in Srisoonthorn.

Deputy Superintendent of the Thalang Police Lt Col Amnuay Kraiwutthianun together with Capt Suchart Luecha of the Thalang Police led a team to make the arrests, at a workers’ camp in Bangjo Moo 4, Srisoonthorn, at 3:30pm yesterday (Mar 11).

When making the arrests of the 16 workers, police also seized a cockfighting enclosure and B300.

All 16 suspects were taken to Thalang Police Station where they were charged with illegal gambling.

It's OK to show cock-fighting on TV's Fight Sport channel though...what's the difference? Are you telling me there's no gambling going on with these televised events? Rubbish.

Yet again, a couple of people have a wager (300 baht?!) is considered a serious crime but the horrible cruelty of forcing animals to brutally injure maim and eventually kill each other is just fine. Buddhism in action.

Unbelieveble! How they dare? Full force of the law has to hit them immediately! This is serious crime!
Same way as they did hit those retired folks who were bridge playing in Pattaya! The world most famous sex city of Thailand.
The law is the law and must hit the non influential immediately.. Right?
