The first CCTV video clip shared on Thai social media shows the attack, which occured near the gas station on Chao Fa West Rd, near Wat Tai temple to the south of Phuket Town at aproximately 4.30am on Saturday morning (January 16).

The victim of the attack, whose name is being withheld, told The Phuket News today that on the night leading up to the incident, he had gone out to have some drinks at a karaoke bar.

"The bar wasn't that far from the scene [of the incident] and I only had a few drinks and was on my way home when three men randomly stopped and attacked me," he said.

The clip shows the men punching and kicking the man, who abandons his bike and flees the scene on foot.

"I had no one to help me, but ended up at a clinic and my bruises and black eye were treated and I was given medicine and charged B500," he said.

A second video clip, also uploaded to social media, and taken from the same CCTV camera, shows a man at aproximately 6am the same morning, picking up the motorbike from where it was abandoned on the street, and casually walking away with it.

"The bike is a Sumo X, worth between B15,000 to B20,000, and its Phuket registration plate number is 1 KorKor 4799. If anybody finds it or sees it, please call this number: 0818934190," the victim said.

"I filed a police report but they don't know if they'll be able to recover the bike or not," he added.
