The problem means that all expats needing to do their 90-day reporting must do so at one of the island’s immigration offices.

The Phuket News attempted to access the 90-day reporting webpage this morning (May 26) to find a message stating that the website is currently undergoing maintenance.

A Phuket Immigration official, who declined to be named, said “The website is another option for those people who need to do 90-day reporting. Unfortunately, as the website is currently not working they will need to report to the immigration office in Phuket Town or in Patong.

“It is not been active for a week. I don’t know how long it will take to fix the problem,” the official said.

“All I can confirm is that the problem is due to a server issue in Bangkok, it is not a problem caused here in Phuket. They are hurrying to fix the problem now,” he added.

BIS

The official said that should anyone have any problems they are still able to contact the Phuket Immigration Office by calling 076-221905.

“If that number is busy then people can always try the 1178 hotline,” he said.

The 90-day reporting web service went offline for “maintenance” in February (See story here.)

The Phuket News reported that the service was back online on April 25 (see story here), but learned only yesterday (May 25) that the handy service was unavailable yet again.

Take a cheap flight to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore for the day- and reset your 90 day sex-offender-like check in requirement. Anything to avoid the unpleasantness of surly officials.

Kurt: It is up to the official if he does not want to give his name.
What is a "treesome"?
And: "In a way it is thai funny, for a good laugh"...you don't like Thai people or the country do you?

Kurt...since when has it become mandatory for anyone to supply their particulars to anyone...let alone the media....unless for a valid legal reason. How also will that great revelation assist the IT people in fixing the problem?

I couldn't report and had to pay a BAHT 2000 fine.

A Phuket Immigration official, ...who declined to be named...?
Why is that a thai government public spokesman not want to be named?
Always so strange, like they feel doing something illegal by informing the public?
It is their duty!

Anyway, forget that report site!
It never gives you piece of mind.
Any time they can say they not received yours, and than you are the only one in trouble.
Problem is not in Phuket, but in Bangkok. Of course 'everything' is in Bangkok.

At the end the problem is yours, and yours only.
Not Immigration Phuket, you have to deal with, and not Bangkok either.

It is like a treesome, at the end BKK and Phuket as well they shuffle responsibility to you.
In a way it is thai funny, for a good laugh.
A server, not able to handle a very simple thing as 90 day report?
Time after time not developed functioning?
Forget it. Just report in person.
