Tanapon Prakobmit, 32, of Nakhon Ratchasima had initially gave report that there was a problem with the bus' front wheels causing him to lose control of it.
However, police became suspicious when another unnamed woman tried to prevent police officers and members of the media from getting anywhere near the bus wreckage.
Upon finally searching the wreckage, police discovered a red bag and with a smoking device that is believed to have been used for smoking crystal meth.
The driver was subsequently arrested and charged with wreckless driving causing injury, and the investigation has yet to reveal if drug use was also a factor.
