Weekend drive to rid Phuket of illegal firearms and other weapons

PHUKET: Phuket Provincial Deputy Commander Col Arun Klaewwatee ordered every head of the island's police stations to direct local police officers to track down and confiscate illegal firearms and explosive devices across Phuket over this weekend (June 13-15), and make arrests accordingly, with a special focus on five individuals likely to be in possession of such items.

Phuket Police are tracking down and confiscating illegal firearms and explosive devices across Phuket over this weekend (June 13-15), on the order of  Phuket Provincial Deputy Commander Col Arun Klaewwatee.

Phuket Police are tracking down and confiscating illegal firearms and explosive devices across Phuket over this weekend (June 13-15), on the order of Phuket Provincial Deputy Commander Col Arun Klaewwatee.

As a result of the drive, today (June 13), Thalang police arrested and charged 17-year-old "Mr Jor" with having a rifle and another weapon. The police made the arrest thanks to an an informer who alleged that "Mr Jor" (not his real name) had been dealing drugs and had a gun.
