US Consular Outreach heading for Phuket

PHUKET: The Consular Section of the US Embassy in Bangkok will hold a consular outreach session in Phuket this Friday (Oct 30) at Le Meridien Phuket Beach Resort from 8am to midday.

The following consular services will be available during the outreach visit. Services will be provided on a first-come, first-served basis; no appointment is necessary.

PASSPORT SERVICES:

Renewal of adult passports (US$110 / B3,960 – exact change required)

Renewal of minor (under age 16) passports (US$105 / B3,780 – exact change required) – IMPORTANT: The child and both parents must appear in person.

Replacement of adult lost/stolen passports (US$135 / B4,860 – exact change required)

Replacement of minor (under age 16) lost/stolen passports (US$105 / B3,780 – exact change required) IMPORTANT: The child and both parents must appear in person.

Addition of extra visa pages (US$82 / B2,952 – exact change required) – IMPORTANT: Consular staff must take your passport to Bangkok for processing and will return it to you in person or by mail (see below). This service will be discontinued worldwide on December 31, 2015. After that date, when you run out of visa pages, you must replace the passport.

IMPORTANT: There are two ways to receive your new passport:

1.) IN PERSON: Visit the Consular office in Bangkok (or send a representative on your behalf) during appointment hours (Monday-Friday, 7:30-11am or 1-2 pm, except Thursday afternoons, holidays, and the last Friday of every month), but no appointment is necessary. Present your old passport for cancellation and collect your new passport.

 

2.) BY MAIL: Purchase a prepaid Thai Post envelope at the outreach for B80 (exact change required). If you select this option, Consular staff will take your current passport to Bangkok, cancel it when the new passport arrives, and mail both passports to you at the same time.

NOTARIAL SERVICES: Income Affidavits (for retirees) and other affidavits (US$50 / B1,800 – exact change required)

SOCIAL SECURITY, VETERANS AFFAIRS, AND OTHER FEDERAL BENEFITS QUESTIONS: Limited services available – Consular staff will attempt to answer questions and provide necessary forms
