The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT), the Phuket Tourist Association (PTA), the Phuket Provincial Administrative Organisation (OrBorJor) and the Phuket Department of Tourism and Sports will host the Andaman Travel Trade 2011 (ATT) on Fro day and Saturday November 25-26 at Rajabhat Phuket University.
More than 300 tourism operators and members of the media from 28 countries in Europe, North America, Asia, Australia, Africa and the Middle East will be brought in to meet more than 160 tourist agencies and hotels based in Phuket, Phang Nga, Krabi, Trang and Ranong.
Jutaporn Rerngronasa, the TAT’s Deputy Governor of Marketing Communications, said she believes that the event, which was first held in 2000, should help boost the number of tourists taking holidays in the five Andaman provinces.
“Thailand tour agencies and hotels can offer special rates, discounts and activities to foreign agents so that tourism income can be distributed to all the Andaman provinces,” she added.
