Lt Col Thawas Tansakul of the Tha Chatchai Police said, “Mr Annop Deeramea, 37, from Trang was arrested with 98 packages of marijuana when police conducted a search of his vehicle.

Officers were performing regular checks at the Tha Chatchai checkpoint when they noticed an Opel Astra with Bangkok licence plates approaching. The driver drove very slowly and hesitated to come to the checkpoint when he saw police.

Upon suspicion, officers signalled for the man to stop and checked his vehicle where they discovered 30 packages of marijuana in one sack on the back seat and 68 packages inside two sacks in the back of the truck,” he said.

Unit - 27

While officers were checking inside the vehicle Annop attempted to run away, but he did not get far and officers apprehended him shortly after.

We are questioning him to find out more information about who or where he was supposed to deliver this drug to,” he added.

Annop was taken to Tha Chatchai Police Station where he was to be charged with possession of a Category 5 drug with intent to sell.

Bingo, good catch!
And now next? Where did this amount come from?
The guy they caught is just a courier/driver.

I would love to see police officers proudly standing with the influential person behind this transport.
But the police seems not to be interested in that, as they only asked him about were he was going to deliver. Again, partial, pulling the wrong end of the rope.

First police ask him where he was going to deliver, and next they charged him about intent to sell.
Two different things.
This driver is just a courier, a delivery boy.
Promised a few thousands thb for bringing it to Phuket.
But, where the stuff came from?
