At 7:30 am, Phuket City police were called to the scene of an accident on the southbound lane of Thepkassttri Rd about 200 metres before the Bangkoo junction in Koh Kaew.
Police, traffic police and Kusoldharm rescue workers arrived at the scene to find that a Chevrolet pick-up truck had flipped on the central reservation and hit a Chevrolet car.
There were three injured people in the car, they were named as Winai Tantai, 46, Thararat Tantai, 12, and Thanarat Tantai, 7. All three were taken to Phuket International Hospital.
The driver of the pick-up, Sakpirut Thepaksorn, 26, told police he came at high speed from Chalerm Prakiet Rama 9 Rd and when he reach the bend the vehicle flew across the central reservation and crashed into the car which was stopped at traffic lights on the other side of the road.
Hospital staff confirmed to The Phuket News that all three of the injured had been released from hospital this afternoon.
No charges have yet to be filed as police currently investigating the incident further.
