Teenager dies in accident

A Phuket teenager died on February 15 and three other people, including a five-year-old, were injured in a road accident involving three motorcycles.
Witnesses said that the accident, in Soi Nanachart Borrae, off Sakdidet Rd, happened after a bike ridden by 15-year-old Weerapon Bootsra collided with another, whose rider fled the scene. A family of three, who were following close behind, ran over Weerapon, killing him, and then crashed. The father of the family, Ratthana Wimolchai, 30, received minor injuries, but his wife, Wilai Kasirak, 28, and five-year-old daughter Kantawan, were taken to Vachira Hospital with multiple fractures. Both are recovering.
None of the people involved in the accident were wearing a helmet.
