Bomb squad officers search for clues in the car park of the Criminal Court after the grenade attack on March 7.

The woman identified only as “Deer” was arrested on yesterday (March 12) evening in the northeastern province of Mukdahan and was taken to an undisclosed location by military officials for questioning, local media reported.

She will be escorted to the Crime Suppression Division on Friday (March 13) morning.

The arrest came after further interrogation of Wichai Yusuk, one of seven arrested suspects who told authorities that "Deer" was unlikely to be living in Australia as claimed by another suspect, Mahahin Khunthong. She was actually living in Thailand.

Mr Mahahin was arrested along with Yutthana Yenpinyo, both 34, shortly after the grenades were launched at the court car park on Ratchadaphisek Road on March 7. He allegedly told police he and Mr Yutthana were hired by an Australia-based human rights activist named "Deer".

A joint military-police investigation later discovered "Deer" frequently travelled from Thailand to Laos via the Mukdahan border crossing and eventually was able to locate her.

"Deer" has been implicated by other suspects as the mastermind of the court car park bomb attack. Police said they had key evidence which showed her talking with Mr Mahahin's wife Nathapach On-ming about the plot on the Line mobile application. They also had Ms Nathapach’s Line talks with Mr Yutthana saying "Deer" would pay him after he threw the grenades at the court.
