No one was injured in the blaze last night at 8pm, which was discovered and doused by a neighbor of the house-owner who happened to be passing by at the right moment.
Mr Kuya Lumuda, 40, said he was passing by the house in the Moo 4 village when he smelt a burning smell and noticed smoke emerging from within the house.
When the owner of the house did not respond to his calls, Mr Kuya said he then forced the door open and spotted the fire, which was burning at a spiritual altar on the wall.
Acting quickly, he yelled for help from neighbors, who helped to douse the fire using a hose from the front of the house.
The owner of the house, Mr Somchai Suwanprasert, 41, who was out “running errands” was contacted by neighbors and promptly returned to his home to assess the damage, which was estimated to be about B20,000.
