Sinbi Fight Night, which takes place this Saturday at 8:30 pm at the gym's location in Rawai, will feature several of the island's top Muay Thai fighters, most of whom call Phuket their full-time home.
Earlier this year, Sinbi trainer Wang was diagnosed with terminal leukemia and is currently undergoing chemotherapy treatments at a hospital in Hat Yai. The 42-year-old was told by doctors that he has roughly three to six months to live unless his treatments prove successful.
A second tragedy struck Sinbi on December 5 (Thailand's Father's Day) when one of their young Thai fighters, Dui, was killed in a motorbike accident. His father, who was driving when a bus smashed into the back of the motorbike, is currently in the hospital and may lose his legs as a result.
The tragedy is made especially difficult on the family since Dui's mother is also pregnant.
All proceeds from the event will go towards these two causes to help pay for hospital bills, family expenses, and more.
Tickets are B1,000 and will be sold at the door. For more information, call 083-391-5535 or visit sinbi-muaythai.com
