The exception was the group of 100 "Bangkok Bulligans" fan club who'd ventured down from the capital to show their support.
Play was hindered and slowed down for much of the match as thundershowers induced choppy play on a waterlogged pitch.
Phuket's win is credited to two goals by Belgian striker Ndebi Berlin, who netted his 14th and 15th goals of the season on either side of the half-time break, on thus becoming the club's all time leading scorer in a single season, with still 8 matches left to add to his tally.
As a result of the win, Phuket have 32 points and were temporarily boosted into 17th place of the 20-team division. Whether they maintain that ranking will depend on results in a match tonight in which the Thai Tobacco Monopoly (18th place with 30 points) play Airforce Central (5th place, 46 points)
