Rejuvenate at the new Wellness Suites at the Ayurah Wellness Centre at Aleenta Phuket Resort & Spa in Phang Nga. Located on the sunset side of the Andaman Sea and the pristine Natai Beach, this luxury property offers guests the opportunity to relax and unwind at the stunning beach, while refreshing at the wellness centre.
They recently created an extensive pilates workshop where participants were instructed by an elite practitioner of the body-shaping technique. The two-hour workshop included a complimentary wellness assessment, with participants learning how to strengthen their inner core to tap the power within.
I was fortunate enough to attended the intense workshop and was able to access the resort’s state-of-the-art Pilates studio, fully fitted with Stott Pilates equipment. Myself and the rest of the participants were taught by Rachel Park, the founder and Chief Executive Officer of The Pilatest Asia and an award-winning instructor.
Aleenta Phuket’s Pilates instructors are trained to international standards and fuelled by a love of what they do and a desire to improve their skills.
The resort’s world-class Pilates facilities, stunning location and expert team attracts Pilates enthusiasts from far and wide, including local celebrities and their families such as Pranabda, Mayuree, Phorntiva and Paleeporn Phornphapra, Nan Nisa, Mont Montarat, Duangkaew Bhakdibhumi, Nisamanee Bhirombhakdhi, Boy Wannasiri and Jesse Dorsey.
Their new re-energising programme is designed to help guests re-balance their mind, body and soul. The three-day programme consists of exercise routines, a healthy delicious lunch, dinner, and a therapeutic healing massage; helping to relieve the muscles in the upper back, neck and shoulders.
At the workshop, we were offered an interesting and delightful breakfast menu, which included a bowl of white oats mixed with coconut water, fresh vanilla pods and fresh soft coconut. There was also a selection of fresh fruits, including dragon fruit, grapes, as well as a handful of dried coconut.
The refreshing healthy lunch consisted of quality, fresh ingredients, perfect for putting some goodness back in the body. The first dish included green mango with papaya salad, wrapped in delicious rice noodles. There was also a blended sauce of roasted cashew nuts. It looked similar to a traditional Thai papaya salad, but it wasn’t as spicy.
The second dish was a serving of medium rare seared tuna loin, mixed with citrus fruit and baby corn and carrots. The dish was a beautiful array of colours. The taste of the tuna was so refreshing and was blended with a tahini suace – a nice healthy option for the body. We were also treated to some fresh strawberries alongside some yoghurt, the perfect way to finish a glorious meal.
The pilates class itself lasted two hours. You could just feel yourself working the muscles in your body and I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an alternative way to work out. The class is a great way to stretch your back and shoulders, not to mention every other bone in your body!
The programme was finished off with a Thai cooking class, followed by a delightful wellness dinner while relaxing under the sunset.
