Quake compensation totals B1.3m in Phuket
PHUKET: Around 400 Srisoonthorn residents whose houses were cracked and damaged by the April 16 earthquake received compensation money from the provincial government to make structural repairs.

Thalang District Chief Naruenart Supattaraprateep gave cheques to 410 residents on Thursday (May 10).
Srisoonthorn Mayor Worawut Songyot said the funds are from the Phuket Provincial Office’s B50 million emergency reserve fund.
“The total amount given to people will be B1.3 million. The number of people who have claimed for damages is 520, but some people have not come to the office yet. The remaining 110 people are eligible to receive their money until May 16 at the Srisoonthorn Municipality Office.”
Residents affected are asked to bring their ID cards and their house registration book to Srisoonthorn Municipality or call 076 617 803 or 076 272 852.
