Electricians at the stadium attempted top restore power, but after one hour of trying and the power could still not be restored the referee had no choice but to cancel the match.
According to Football Association of Thailand (FAT) Rule and Regulation Chapter 5, section 7.3:
‘Any team that is unable to complete a match or unable to finish a match, or if any players walk out from the field or any officials or player cause the cancellation of a match, that team will have to face a penalty of losing the match 0 – 2 and will be fined no less than B50,000. Other could be added should the referee believe it necessary.’
The three points mean that the Ronins climbed three places from 18th to 15th in the league table, the final relegation spot.
Phuket now return home and prepare to take on Ayutthaya FC on Sunday. The game will be held at Surakul Stadium and kick-off is set for 7pm.
