PHUKET: Police are investigating the cause of a fire the broke out among tangled street-side power cables opposite Phuket Boat Lagoon, causing a minor blackout in the area earlier today (August 21).

The power cables, on the northbound side of the busy Thepkassattri Rd, caught fire at about midday.
Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation and firemen arrived soon after and took about 10 minutes to douse the flames.
Telephone cables and electrical supply cables were damaged, but no injuries were reported from the incident.
