Pol Lt Gen Prawut said investigators had evidence that confirmed that the only two Thai suspects among the 17 individuals under arrest warrants in the Aug 17-18 incidents were part of the bombers’ network. He said both had known each other, but he could not disclose details at this stage.
Police alleged Mr Odd of supplying bomb-making materials for the explosions. Mr Odd, according to police, was a former red-shirt security guard and has also been linked to two politically-motivated bomb attacks in 2010 and last year.
Red shirt leader Jatuporn Prompan, however, accused the police of trying to link the movement with the country’s biggest bomb attack.
Ms Wanna is a Thai-Muslim woman whom police found had rented a room for suspects in the blasts and whose Turkish husband Emrah Davutoglu is also wanted. Their whereabouts are unknown.
Pol Lt Gen Prawut said the Royal Thai Police had invited Turkish ambassador to Thailand to discuss progress in the case. Authorities would also ask the ambassador to help in the verification of the passports seized and search for another key suspect, Abudureheman Abdusataer, also known as Ishan, Ms Wanna and her husband.
