One of the world's more popular travel sites, Tripadvisor released the list on Wednesday, announcing it was compiled from feedback from millions of travellers worldwide.
Other Thai beaches included in the top 10 are Railay Beach (3rd place) and Phra Nang Beach (5th place). Railay and Phra Nang beaches are in Krabi province.
The top place went to White Beach on Boracay island in the Philippines.
Tourism Authority of Thailand governor Surapol Svetaseni said, "Thai beaches are unlike any other beaches in the world, whether you like playing extreme water sports or taking sunset photos along the beach. There are always interesting things to do on Thai beaches."
Mr Surapol said Thailand also has other beautiful beaches, such as Kata Beach in Phuket, Lamai Beach in Surat Thani and Long Beach in Krabi.
