Ekkamon Authasri, 17, from Uthai Thani, was erecting a flagpole with Thai flag on top of the arch at the Panyanukul Special School in Thalang district when the pole he was holding touched a high-voltage power line.
He was initially rushed to Thalang Hospital but doctors there felt his condition was severe enough that he should be transferred to Vachira. He died soon after arriving there.
