PHUKET: Two Thai women managed to escape serious injury yesterday afternoon (September 11), when a pine tree fell on them while they were riding a motorbike.

Pranee Kreewa, 34, and her friend Mayawee Ratthanakosin, 27, were driving from Kamala to Cherng Talay when a pine tree fell in front of them, close to the new Novotel Phuket Kamala Beach.
Strong winds are believed to have dislodged the tree, which clipped an electricity line on its way down before crashing into the women.
The women fell off their bike and both suffered cuts and bruises to their heads, but escaped without serious injury.
The pine tree was removed around one hour later.
