Firefighters were called to the Mahanakorn nightclub near Nimit Circle, also called the “seahorse circle”, on the east side of town just after midday.
The fire teams had the fire under control within 10 minutes, but not before the DJ booth area, where the fire was underway, had suffered extensive damage.
No people were injured in the incident.
Firefighters at the scene said that an electrical short was the most likely cause of the fire.
“However, officers have yet to conclude their investigation to confirm the cause of the fire,” he said.
