Officers arrested Adisorn Laemka in a side street off Yaowarat Rd in Samkong at 8pm after undercover police reported a young man carrying a weapon in a public place, confirmed Lt Somsak Thongkleang of the Phuket City police.

Adisorn is already facing charges of premeditated murder and accessory to murder for the deadly shooting of Sakorn Nitipoj in Phuket Town on New Year’s Eve.

In carrying out the slaying, Adisorn and fellow-charged conspirators hunted down Sakorn from in front of the governor’s house and gunned him down in the street in front of the Finance Ministry office on Naresorn Rd. (See story here).

The high-profile case saw police launch a manhunt for the suspects, resulting in Adisorn surrendering to police five days later. (See story here)

“Adisorn was under surveillance because of the charges already against him,” explained Lt Somsak Thongkleang of the Phuket City police.

“Undercover officers stopped and searched him while he was walking down the street, and found that he was carrying a zip gun and two shotgun cartridges.”

Adison was taken to Phuket City police station and charged with illegal possession of a firearm and ammunition, and carrying a weapon in a public place without permission.
