Pol Maj Natapol Ditsayatham of the Department of Special Investigation (DSI) told The Phuket News, “We received a letter saying that someone has encroached on public land at the beach end of the [Patong Bay Garden Resort].
“So far, we have not been able to establish the facts. The Marine Department and the Kathu Land Office will need to see more evidence first.” He said those two departments would be in charge of the investigation.
Sakorn Poodam of the Phuket Marine Office echoed this. He told The Phuket News, “The owner of the resort is not here today, so we can’t ask to see any land papers. We are checking.”
