Officers arrived at the scene, on Soi Koh Kaew 17, next to the Super Cheap 24 convenience store on Thepkrasattri Rd northbound, at 3:45pm.

They found the body of Weerapong Rattanapan, 40, from Trang in the driver’s seat, lying with his head resting on the front passenger seat.

Police were notified of the death by Koh Kaew Moo 5 village headman Wattana Thinkohkaew, who was called to investigate the Toyota Vigo pickup truck after residents complained that it was blocking the entrance to their street.

“The victim has been dead for at least three hours before he was found,” said Phuket City Police Inspector Watcharapong Plaiphan.

Police theorized that Mr Weerapong may have died of natural causes.

“Both windows of the truck were down and we found no signs of assault or injury, but we will wait for doctors at Vachira Hospital to confirm the cause of death,” Lt Col Watcharapong said.
