The news broke after a video clip of the incident posted on Facebook started going viral. The clip has had more than 326,000 views since it was posted online late yesterday afternoon.

The video shows two young men on a motorbike reacting angrily after the car reportedly nearly collided with them near the Samkong Underpass.

The car continued, but the two men on the motorbike soon overtook the vehicle, with the young man riding pillion apparently pointing a gun at the car driver and threatening him, before the motorbike sped off.

“Our officers have identified the license plate of the motorbike recorded in the video,” Lt Col Prawit Engchuan, Chief Investigator and Deputy Commander of the Phuket Provincial Police, confirmed to The Phuket News.

“We are looking for the owner of motorbike now. We will then call in the two young men for questioning,” Col Prawit said.
