Speaking at the recent opening of the arena, Phuket OrBorJor̕s deputy chief, Soratham Jinda said, “We have built this futsal arena at the Wat Thepkasattri School for local residents. It was built using a budget of almost B20m.
“The arena now gives locals an additional area to play sport and exercise. Hopefully the youths will use this as a means of staying away from drugs and crime.”
OrBorJor̕s Sanya Srimuang added, “Phuket OrBorJor has now given Phuket one of the most modern futsal arenas complete with roof, lockers, restrooms and reception area. “Also, the arena is powered by solar to help reduce electricity costs.
“Thank you to Phuket OrBorJor for funding the project.”
Yuthana Khanma a Thepkasattri District council member and futsal coach added, “Thank you OrBorJor for supporting the futsal arena project for youths and local residents. I am proud to see the opening of the first artificial grass futsal arena in our district, and I fully support youths who get involved in sport.”
The futsal arena is open Monday-Friday from 1pm-9pm and Saturday and Sunday from 10am-9pm.
If the arena is hosting an event it will be open to the public Monday-Friday from 9am-4pm.
Event organisers who wish to hire the arena can contact the Phuket OrBorJor Tourism and Sport̕s Department on 076-217-087.
The hourly cost for the public to use the arena is B600 for adult and B400 for students. Special rates will be given to schools which send in a written request to use the arena in advance.
