According to a statement on the club's website, Somsak will takeover the team for four matches. During that time, the club will interview several candidates for the vacant position.
Club officials say they are leaning towards hiring a foreign coach but will consider a Thai-native to lead Phuket FC for the rest of the 2014 season.
“We are leaning towards hiring a foreign coach because since we are partners with [Brazilian club] Cruzeiro EC, having a foreign coach would make things easier as far as player loans and coordinating in general,” said club Chairman Pamuke Atchariyachai in a statement.
Phuket FC's next match takes place this Sunday (June 29) as they travel to Pattaya United for the first leg in the second half of the Yamaha League-1 season. Kick-off set for 6pm.
