At 6pm on Wednesday, Phuket City police arrested 20-year-old Jakkapan Noynamtieng from Rassada with 6 kilo of kratom leaves.
Jakkapan was arrested in his rented room in Soi Phang Nga 2 where police also found 700 ml of kratom juice.
The arrest of Jakkapan came after Tha Chatchai police alerted Phuket City police that Jakkapan has been selling a kratom cocktail to local people.
Undercover police had been monitoring his activity before raiding his room.
Jakkapan was taken to Phuket City Police Station where he was charged with producing and possessing a Category 5 drug.
