Hosted by Thailand’s Foundation of Science and Technology Council, the annual award honours individuals who have succeeded in their business and personal lives, leading by example and making a major contribution to Thai society.
The accolade was presented by His Excellency Gen Pichitr Kullavanijaya, as a member of Thailand’s distinguished Privy Council.
Mr Pramookpisitt said he felt humbled by the prestigious honour.
“We have worked hard for 35 years to build Kata Group Resorts, guided by our desire to create a family-oriented company, embracing Thai values, and creating an atmosphere of mutual support, help and understanding,” he said.
“The company is in many ways an extension of my own family, who I would like to thank for their great support and encouragement over the years and we can be proud today of our achievement and success.”
Kata Group Resorts is the owner and operator of six resorts in Southern Thailand, starting out with Kata Beach Resort and Spa and Phuket Orchid Resort and Spa in Phuket during the fledgling tourism years in the late 1970s.
In 2012, Kata Group launched the Beyond Resorts brand, with luxury couples concepts at Beyond Resort Khaolak, Beyond Resort Karon and Beyond Resort Krabi, featuring pool villas and unique experiences curated for couples,while adding Kandaburi Resort & Spa on Koh Samui to the portfolio.
Kata Group Resorts is poised for a listing on the Stock Exchange of Thailand in 2017 with the intention of further growth in Phuket,Pattaya and Hua Hin.
Mr Pramookpisitt has a Bachelor of Business Administration Management and a Master’s of Public Administration from the University of Manila, Philippines, winning a Good Father award in Thailand in 2009. He focuses on community and charity work and owns Phuket FC football Club.
