Although 4,560 cyclists were registered as taking part in the event in Phuket, centred at Spahan Hin, only 1,125 local cyclists were counted in setting the record in accordance with conditions laid down by Guinness World Records officials.
Regardless, Thailand has now been officially recorded as holding the “worldʼs largest bicycle parade”, with 146,266 cyclists nationwide successfully taking part in the event and meeting all criteria set by records officials.
The main event was in Bangkok, where HRH Crown Prince Maha Vajiralongkorn led more than 40,000 cyclists along the 43-kilometre round-route from the Royal Plaza through Bangkok streets to the 11th Infantry Regiment in Bang Khen. (See story here.)
