The official launch will be held in Bangkok later this month and will be followed by a charter show for superyachts in February. This news is welcomed by the marine industry and demonstrates the government’s commitment to developing the potential of Thailand’s Andaman coast as a marine hub.

Meanwhile, the 13th Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) will be presented by Thailand Elite at the peak of high season in early January and is on track to be a bigger and even better show than last year with four months still to go.

As well as a strong representation of marine equipment and accessories, the lifestyle aspect of the show is building impressively. Luxury property exhibits already include Ocean Property, Krabi Boat Lagoon as well as La Reserve, Royal Villas and the Grand Villa by Royal Phuket Marina.

New hotel partners this year are The Village Coconut Island and Como Hotels with The Point Yamu in Phuket and sister hotel The Metropolitan in Bangkok, which will be the host of the PIMEX press conference in November.

For car enthusiasts, there will be a glittering line up of brands including Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Aston Martin, BMW and Mini.

The Boardwalk at the host venue – Royal Phuket Marina – will be buzzing with activity from a sumptuous collection of restaurants and food and beverage products. Al fresco on the Boardwalk are Whisgars, with the largest selection of cigars and whiskies, Craft Beer and Beluga Vodka. Add to that Italian, Vietnamese, Thai, a fine Patisserie, classic burgers and The Speakeasy and there will be no shortage of eateries to enjoy while taking a break from viewing the show.

A strategic alliance with Thailand’s largest retail group, Central Department Stores, will see PIMEX, Phuket's luxury lifestyle offerings and the island of Phuket itself reach hundreds of thousands of people in the lead up and during the show, to be held at Royal Phuket Marina on January 7-10 – during the peak of the high season in Thailand.
