Phuket Provincial Health Organisation doctor, Bancha Kakhong, Damrongdhama Centre Chief, Propan Khanprasang, Phuket City Police Lt Col Sommai Onkam, Wichit Police Lt Col Pisit Cheurnpetch were part of a team who carried out a raid on Siam Herbal Co on New Naka Rd in Wichit after several compants were made about products being sold at the store.

Dr Bancha explained, “We raided the business after V/Gov Prajiad ordered officials to investigate the store because of the number of complaints received by the Damrongdhama Centre. These complants related to the business smuggling and selling unregistered medicines and counterfeit beauty products.

“As soon as we entered the store we discovered a number of counterfeit brand name cosmetic products. We also found that the store has been selling unregistered products and does not have a permit to sell items such as balms, herbal medicines, tea leaves and health foods,” he said.

“The store owner is facing charges of selling and producing counterfeit products, selling and producing unregistered traditional/herbal medicines without a permit, and selling unregistered health food products without a permit.

“They have been ordered to stop selling such products and officials have seized all the traditional medicines, herbal products and tea leaves.”
