Invited to join the assembly before the patrols by police, Navy servicemen and volunteer security personnel began was French Honorary Consul to Phuket, Claude de Crissey.

Both regular officers and Tourist Police are on alert after the tragic news from France on the weekend, said Kathu Police Deputy Superintendent Col Akanit Danpitaksan.

“The police also extend our deepest condolences to the French and we invited Mr Claude De Crissey to join our assembly on Soi Bangla,” he said.

“We would like to express our sadness to those who lost loved ones in the tragedy, and at the same time we’d like to send this message to tourists that we are doing our best to be prepared for any unpredictable situation.

“Mr Crissey thanked the Thai police for being alert. We also thank him for coming to join us yesterday,” Col Akkanit added.
