PHUKET: The Marine Police have dispatched a rescue team to assist the captain and crew of a fishing crew who broadcast a mayday for help off Koh Racha Yai at 8:15am today (July 8).

Capt Panom, the captain of the fishing boat Unyanumchok, reported that his vessel was sinking 16 nautical miles southeast of Koh Racha Yai.
“We have dispatched the boat Ploypailin to that area to render assistance,” Lt Col Panya Chaichana of the Marine Police told The Phuket News.
Capt Panom confirmed that he and his four crewmen were still on board at the time.
