The car landed upside-down in the five-metre-deep hole but the driver, though badly shaken, was pulled out unhurt.
A witness said, “I heard the staff of the petrol station yelling ‘A car’s fallen into the hole!’ So I ran down into the hole. Another car stopped and its driver also came down to help.
“I opened the driver’s door and helped her out of the car and up out of the hole. She was wearing her safety belt. She is safe but she is in shock at the moment.”
The owner of the car declined to comment or give her name. A large crane was soon brought in to retrieve the car, which was in considerably worse condition than the driver.
