Puvadon Kumban, a tour bus representative, told The Phuket News that they feel it is unfair that local tour bus services are never hired or called to serve the Aphrodite Cabaret Show.
“Aphrodite has about 10 buses in service right now and they give away these buses to Chinese tour operators to pick up tourist from the airport or hotels to visit their show and other businesses for free,” he said.
He also said that the Aphrodite used to complain that local tour buses are not up to standard. The condition of the buses, the service and even the bus driverʼs behaviour are not good enough for them.
“But now we are ready, we have improved our services, the buses conditions and the bus drivers even have uniforms,” Mr Puvadon added.
“The locals tour bus operators feel very bad about Aphroditeʼs policy that they never support Phuket people.
“We all live in Phuket, if we do not support each other how can we live and grow up together?” he concluded.
Manager of Aphrodite, Disanuwat Panya, who received the letter from the locals, noted that he can understand their feeling and will discuss the matter with the comapnyʼs board as soon as possible.
“We understand how they feel, but this may be some kind of mistake. We are in the show business and our name is on over one hundred tour group packages. They always come to us and we never hire them,” Mr Disanuwat explained.
“However, we will hold a meeting with the board and will inform them of the outcome soon.”
