Located just a few hundred metres from Royal Phuket Marina, where the Phuket International Boat Show (PIMEX) is now on, the custom-built SCS Marine workshop hums with activity as the expert team beavers away creating custom systems for some of the finest yachts in Southeast Asia.
Central to the workshop delivering perfectly custom-designed RHVAC systems is the computersied CNC laser cutting machine, which ensures the highest quality in installation and fitting.
Leading the team is Frenchman Stephane Anselmino, who was born into the family air-conditioning business in his home town of Marseille. He arrived in Phuket 20 years ago, and soon after founded SCS Marine.
“Whether it is one small air conditioning unit, a complete refrigeration plant, a marine application or an air conditioning and ventilating system for a building complex, the entire design, building and servicing can be supplied by Siam Cooling System,” explains Stephane.
“This is all done at the most cost-effective rates, producing a flexible and affordable solution, whatever and wherever the need. We also carry an enormous range of components and spare parts, including international and domestic brand names.,” he adds.
Stephane often travels to the shipyards in Bangkok, Malaysia and elsewhere to serve SCS Marine’s extensive range of clients, which rises to include the well-known Calypso and the renowned sister ships Silolona I and Silolona II, as well as the Royal Dutch Shipbuilders Feadship beauty Samax.
“Many clients call us for advice. We also provide the full range of service, from drawing up plans to designing the system and the and full installation,” he explains.
“I opened this business 18 years ago, and 12 years we launched our own brand marine air-conditioning, S System Marine. Since then, we have expanded our areas of service. Now we cover Malaysia, the Maldives and Indonesia – including Bali. We have many clients throughout Asia,” says Stephane.
Specifically for air conditioning products for air conditioning applications, SCS Marine offers a wide range of scroll and reciprocating compressors.
“As specialists in marine equipment, we offer a large selection of air-conditioning and refrigeration systems which are suitable for boats of all types and sizes,” says Stephane.
“We also provide portable hatch-top units, self-contained seawater-cooled units, remote direct expansion systems and circulated water systems as well as a complete line of accessories, including seawater pumps, seawater lines, grills, ducts, plenums, electrical relays, controls and all other components needed to complete the installation.
“Our facility also boasts an efficient sheet metal, refrigeration, air conditioning equipment fabrication work shop and full service powder coating and industrial sandblasting facility that has provided high quality service also laser cutting services for metal and plastic materials.
