The youngsters, both Filipino nationals, live and train at BISP's High Performance Swim Academy.

Yu's 2 minutes and 16.44 second backstroke broke the women's 200 metre senior record.

Chua broke the men's 400 metre freestyle senior record with a time of 4 minutes and 5.09 seconds. He also broke the Philippine short course relay record during the 4 x 50 metre freestyle event as an anchor leg.

The duo are now preparing for their December tip to Brisbane where, along with six other members of HPT, will try to qualify for next year's Youth Olympic Games in Nanjing, China. The team are also gearing up to qualify for the Singapore Age Group National Championships in March 2014.

Applications are now being accepted for the BISP's High Performance Swim Academy's scholarship program with a deadline of March 15, 2014. For more information, visit www.BISPhuket.ac.th
