Nick Gates, who is a former Tour de France rider, came first in the Olympic distance race.
Speaking after the event, he said: “It was a really good race and I was very happy about how it went for me. The race has been running now for several years but this is my first time participating, and it was a successful first time.”
Next weekend, Nick and Thanyapura triathlete, Paul Amey will fly to Indonesia to compete in the Ironman 70.3 Bintan Triathlon with the hopes of qualifying for the 2016 Ironman World Championships in Australia.
