Phuket AMCHAM targets trends in sustainable hospitality

PHUKET: The American Chamber of Commerce (AMCHAM) Greater Phuket Chapter will hold a tourism seminar led by Grace Kang of Greeview Hospitality from Singapore at the Keemala Resort on Friday, February 5.

The seminar, dubbed a “must-attend to grasp the high rewards of implementing sustainability within your hotel”, will address how sustainability helps hotels cut costs, increases overall satisfaction and loyalty for associates and guests at hotels.

Ms Kang, Managing Partner of Greenview, will present tangible examples of actions hotels can undertake, and a landscape of the latest trends from around the world that are driving sustainability into the discussion at a strategic level, including the trend of green meetings.

Greenview is a specialty consulting in research firm in sustainability for travel and tourism based in the US and Singapore, advising several of the world’s brands and catalysing awareness of innovation and best practice. Greenview operates the industry’s largest global benchmarking work of energy, water, and carbon emissions in hotels, and conducts ongoing trends and insight research for the World Travel & Tourism Council and UN World Tourism Organization covering hotels, events, destinations, and cruise lines.

Ms Kang has over 15 years of experience in the hotel industry in various functional roles, particularly in data analysis and reporting. She brings corporate perspective from working at top global hotel brands such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts and Marriott International in sales strategy and development finance roles, both working with data for corporate reporting purposes.

Managing Director of Shine PR, Natasha Eldred, will moderate this seminar and give a short, grass-roots perspective on the change within Phuket’s microcosm hotelscape, using Keemala as an example of the changing attitudes that hotels are now embracing in their overall commitment to corporate social responsibility.

Registration for the event begins at 4:30pm at the “Enchanted Hall” at the Keemala Resort in Kamala, with the session running from 5pm to 6pm.
