With the new multi-storey carpark now in use, the old one has been closed.

The airport’s new Director, Monrudee Gettuphan, told The Phuket News today (December 8), “We closed the old car park on Saturday (December 6). Taxis or other vehicles can bring passengers to the departures lounge or pick them up from arrvals, but they cannot stop in the old car park.

“There are the signs drivers pointing the way to the new parking lot building, in Thai and English.

“We have two shuttle buses that will move people between the treminal and the car park. The buses will make pick-ups every 10 minutes, 24 hours a day.

“In case they are needed, we also have electric golf carts that can carry people to and fro.

“If people do not want to wait, they can walk between the terminal and the car park. We have built a temporary covered walkway; we will install a permanent one soon.

“Meanwhile the old car park will be converted into a second multi-storey car park. It should have been built earlier, but we have made a start; we have already awarded the contract for that.”

Only saloon cars are allowed to park in the new car park.

Prices in the new multi-storey car park are the same as applied at the old car park. These, as provided by the company that is running the car park, Phuket Car Rent and Travel, are:

  • Up to 15 minutes: Free
  • Up to 1:15 hours: B20
  • Up to 2:15 hours: B40
  • Up to 3:15 hours: B50
  • From 3:15 to 6 hours: B100
  • From 6 to 24 hours: B200

If time of exit is more than five minutes beyond any of the bands above, the price will be charged for the next time band.

Charges are timed from when the vehicle enters the car park building until the time the vehicle leaves the building.

Parking for about 1,000 motorbikes is available, free, in the area of the old car park closest to the road outside.
