The event traditionally takes place every February but has since been moved to March 18–20 to accommodate teams from other countries. Over 20 boats have confirmed that they will take part, including teams from Australia, Canada, Germany, Australia, Russia, USA, Hong Kong, the United Kingdom and Singapore.

Fishing will be held on the waters surroundings the Similan Islands, which is renowned as Thailand's 'premium sport fishing area' and is about 70 miles northwest of Chalong, Phuket.

The winners of the tournament will be announced at an awards dinner at Kan Eang@Pier Restaurant in Chalong on Friday, March 20 beginning at 6:30pm. Guest tickets available, for more information visit rawaibeachfishingclub.com.

The boats for the competition will all cruise to the area the day before the event begins. Only a few game fishing boats are still available, team enquiries should be made to Warren Crowe at info@rawaibeachfishingclub.com.

Last year, Australian team Fish Darwin took home the top prize with 110 points and capturing both the biggest Marlin (167 cm) and biggest Sailfish (203 cm).
